Slot Pricing Resource Guide for Sellers
Overview:
The Slot Pricing feature in MARKAPLACE allows sellers to offer different product prices based on customer tags and quantity ranges. It’s designed to enhance flexibility in pricing, enabling sellers to target specific customer groups with tailored pricing. This guide will provide an in-depth understanding of how to use this feature for managing slot-based pricing.
Key Features:
1. Customer-Specific Pricing (Based on Customer Tags):
Sellers can assign different prices to the same product based on Customer Tags.
Customer Tags are defined by the admin, and sellers can then create multiple price slots for the same product by associating them with these tags. NOTE: Customer Tags are defined by MARKAPLACE and include Wholesale and Retail.
2. Slot Tags Configuration:
Admins configure Slot Tags through the app’s Configuration Menu.
These tags are then visible to sellers, allowing them to link products to specific customer groups for personalized pricing.
3. Price by Quantity Range:
Sellers can set different prices based on quantity ranges.
Multiple slots with different prices can be created for various quantity tiers, offering bulk discounting or tiered pricing.
Limitations:
The default product price should be higher than the price per quantity added in the slot pricing for each tag. This ensures that the base price remains competitive.
Customers cannot use discount codes during checkout when Slot Pricing is enabled. This is because the slot pricing is treated as a discount from the backend, and applying a code would conflict with this setup.
Step-by-Step Guide for Sellers: Adding Slot Pricing
Once the Slot Pricing functionality is enabled by the admin, sellers can start creating slot-based prices for their products. Here’s the process:
Step 1: Enable Slot Pricing for Products
Navigate to the Multivendor Seller Panel.
Go to Products and click on Product Listing.
Click on Add/Edit Product.
Step 2: Mark the Product as Slot Pricing
In the product editing section, look for the option labeled “Mark the Product as Slot Pricing” and enable it.
This will unlock the slot pricing options for the product.
Step 3: Select Slot Tag
From the drop-down menu, select a Slot Tag that was pre-configured by the admin.
The Slot Tags are associated with specific customer groups and will determine which customers see the price options tied to these tags.
Step 4: Set Quantity Ranges and Price
Enter quantity ranges (e.g., 1-10, 11-20) for which different prices will apply.
For each range, input the corresponding price per quantity.
You can create multiple slots for different quantity ranges, which allows for tiered pricing (e.g., buying more of the product might lower the price).
Step 5: Save the Slot Pricing
After adding all desired quantity ranges and prices, click on “Add Slot” to save the configuration.
Repeat the process for any other products you wish to set up with Slot Pricing.
Example Workflow:
Let’s say you're a seller selling a bulk pack of pens. You want to offer different prices based on quantity and customer tags. Here’s how you would use Slot Pricing:
Product: Bulk Pack of Pens.
Slot Tag: “Wholesale Customers” and “Retail Customers”.
In this way, you’ve created two different pricing schemes for different customer types, and each range offers tiered pricing based on the number of units.
Final Thoughts:
The Slot Pricing feature allows sellers to optimize their pricing strategy by offering tailored prices to different customer segments. By leveraging quantity-based pricing and customer tags, sellers can increase sales and customer satisfaction, offering value at the right price. However, sellers should be mindful of the limitations, such as the inability to use discount codes, and ensure the default product price is higher than the price per quantity.
With this guide, you should be able to fully utilize the Slot Pricing feature to create customized and dynamic pricing strategies for your marketplace products.
