Overview

SMS Alerts is a feature integrated into MARKAPLACE, utilizing SMS Gateway tools to send automated SMS notifications, calls, and IVR calls to sellers. This feature ensures that sellers stay informed and up-to-date about the status of their orders, making it easier to manage and respond to customer orders promptly.

With SMS Alerts, sellers will receive immediate notifications when a new order is placed, along with an automated call and IVR notification, where applicable.

How SMS Alerts Work

The SMS Alerts integration allows sellers to receive real-time notifications about customer orders via SMS or calls. This enhances the seller's ability to stay informed and act quickly without needing to be logged into the system at all times.

Order Notifications via SMS: Sellers will receive an SMS whenever a new order is placed.

Automated Calls/IVR Calls: Depending on the seller's preferences and MARKAPLACE settings, they may also receive automated phone calls or IVR (Interactive Voice Response) calls to notify them of the new order.

Setting Up SMS Alerts

To enable SMS Alerts for your seller account, follow these simple steps:


Go to the MARKAPLACE Seller Panel and log in with your credentials.

Navigate to the section in the panel.
SMS Alerts option under the "Order Notifications" category.

Check the box or toggle the setting to enable for new orders.

Calls: Opt-in for automated calls/IVR calls for additional notifications (if applicable). This feature is ideal for sellers who may not always be checking SMS but want to ensure they are aware of every new order.

Once you have enabled the alerts and set your preferences, make sure to save your settings to activate the notifications.

Types of SMS Alerts


Whenever a customer places a new order, you will receive an instant . The message typically includes the order number, product details, and basic order information.


In addition to SMS alerts, sellers can opt-in for IVR calls. These calls will notify sellers of new orders and, in some cases, may offer additional details or options through an interactive voice menu.

Managing SMS Alerts

Once SMS Alerts are activated, sellers can manage and customize their alert preferences.


You can review all past SMS alerts related to new orders directly in your Seller Panel under the "Notifications" section. This will allow you to track and manage your notifications.


If you prefer to change how and when you are notified, you can adjust your settings anytime in the SMS Alerts section under your Notification Settings. Options may include turning off alerts for specific events or switching between SMS and calls.


If you no longer wish to receive automated calls or IVR notifications, you can disable this feature in the same SMS Alerts settings area.

To update your phone number for receiving SMS alerts, simply go to the Profile Settings section and edit your contact information. Be sure to save any changes made.

Best Practices for Sellers Using SMS Alerts


Make sure your phone is always accessible to receive SMS or IVR calls to stay updated about new orders. This will help you quickly process orders and provide timely responses to customers.

If you are receiving too many SMS notifications (for instance, if you have many products or frequent orders), consider reviewing your notification preferences. You can select more specific notifications or choose how often you receive alerts.

Ensure that your phone number is correct and up-to-date to avoid missing important alerts. Double-check your contact information in the Profile Settings.

SMS Alerts can be used alongside email notifications or Seller Panel alerts for a multi-channel notification system. This ensures that you won’t miss any orders regardless of where you are.
